Questions and answers

Everything students and parents ask about the free practice tests, in plain words. New here? Watch how each test works first.

Taking a test

Do I need an account to take a test?

No. Every test is free and starts with one tap. An account is only for keeping your results on more than one device, and it is free too.

How long is a test?

A quick check is 10 questions, about 10 minutes. A full paper is 40 questions with a timer, usually 60 minutes. Mock exams for MDCAT, NUST NET and the SAT run the real length. The Daily 5 takes about three minutes.

What do Practice mode and Exam mode do?

Practice mode shows you right or wrong after every answer, with the explanation, and has no clock. Exam mode hides the marks until you finish and runs the timer, like the real paper. You switch them on the subject page before you start.

Can I change an answer?

Yes, until you press Finish. Tap a different option, or use the numbers at the top to jump back to any question.

What if I close the test halfway?

It is kept. Open the subject again and you will see a Resume button with how many questions you answered.

What do the hints do?

The first tap gives a nudge about the idea behind the question. A second tap takes away two wrong answers. Hints are not available in Exam mode.

Is there a calculator?

Yes. In Physics, Chemistry, Maths and the entry tests there is a Calculator button above the question. Rules opens the formula sheet for that subject.

Scores and results

How is my test marked?

The moment you press Finish. You get your score, a grade band, the right answer and a short explanation for every question, and your score by topic.

What does the percentage next to my score mean?

How you compare with other students who took the same test in the last 60 days. "Higher than 70%" means you beat seven out of ten of them.

Where do my wrong answers go?

Into My mistakes for that subject. Retry them from the result page or from the subject page; a question leaves the list once you get it right.

Why do the chapter bars show different colours?

Red is under 50%, amber is 50 to 79%, green is 80% and above. The bar shows your best recent score on that chapter, so you can see what to revise next.

Can I see all my results in one place?

Yes. My prep lists every subject you have tried with its score ring, and Full report breaks each one down by topic.

Your account

How do I sign up?

Tap Sign in, type your email, and enter the 6-digit code we send. No password. The same email works on the notes site and in the live classes.

Will my results from this phone move to my laptop?

Yes, once you sign in on both with the same email. Results you got before signing in are added to your account on the device where you took them.

Can I get a daily reminder?

Yes. On the result page, tap Remind me and we send one message a day at 7 pm. You can switch it off from the same place.

How do I delete my data?

Email megalecture@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and we remove your account and results within seven days.

The questions

Who writes the questions?

The Mega Lecture team writes them to each syllabus, in the style of the exam, and checks every answer. They are not copied from past papers. Where we have the real Cambridge multiple-choice papers, they are listed separately under Past papers.

A question or answer looks wrong. What do I do?

Tap Report a problem under the question and tell us what you think is wrong. A teacher checks every report, and we fix the question or reply to you.

Do the same questions repeat?

Each new test picks questions you have not seen first. When you have seen every question on a topic, we tell you, and bring back the ones you saw longest ago.

Can I read the explanation in Urdu?

Yes for NUST NET and FSc: on the result page, tap Read in Urdu.

Are the past papers real?

Yes. The Cambridge multiple-choice papers under Past papers are the real papers, with the real mark scheme. You answer on an answer sheet on screen and get marked at once.

Problems

The test will not load or is stuck on Loading.

Check your connection and refresh the page. If it still does not load, open the test in another browser, or clear this site from your browser history and try again. Your results are safe in your account.

I cannot find my subject.

All tests lists every subject we have. If yours is missing, tell us at megalecture@gmail.com and we will say when it is coming.

How do I ask a teacher about a question?

Under every explanation there is Ask a teacher about this question. It opens the study helper with the question already filled in.

Not answered here?

Email megalecture@gmail.com or use Report a problem inside any test. For help with a topic, ask the study helper.
